Tharaka Nithi county is one of the 47 counties in Kenya, located in the eastern region of the country. Tharaka south sub-county is located in the southern part of Tharaka Nithi county, bordering Kitui and Meru counties. It covers an area of 727.5 square kilometers and is home to over 52,000 people. The sub-county is known for its fertile agricultural land and produces crops such as maize, beans, and bananas.
05. Muthambi Sub-County
Muthambi sub-county is located in the central part of Tharaka Nithi County. The sub-county has an estimated population of 26,511 people, according to the 2019 census. The administrative center of Muthambi sub-county is Kathwana town.
06. Tharaka North Sub County
Tharaka North Sub County is located in Tharaka-Nithi County, Kenya. It’s a predominantly rural area known for agriculture, with coffee and tea as the major crops. It’s home to various tourist attractions and has a population of around 63,000 people.
